By-Elections Since 2022: BJP's Post-2024 Rebound
All 14 UP Assembly by-elections since the 2022 general election: NDA 10, SP 4. But 4 of those 14 (13 May 2024) were held concurrently with the Lok Sabha general election, not as standalone contests — looking only at the 10 genuinely standalone by-elections held after the Jun 2024 Lok Sabha result was known, the NDA won 8 and SP won 2. Neither number is a statewide predictor: turnout is typically much lower than a general election, and a single-seat contest behaves differently from a full Assembly race.

Samajwadi Party
After the Nov 2025 Bihar result, Akhilesh Yadav replaced "Alpsankhyak" (minorities) with "Aadhi Abadi" (women) in the PDA framing. On Aug 5, 2026 he introduced "PeeDit Pandit" (aggrieved Brahmins), extending the pitch toward upper-caste voters.
Bharatiya Janata Party
A statewide UP unit rebuild (Jun 25, 2026) gave named posts across Rajput, Brahmin, Vaishya, non-Jatav Dalit and multiple OBC sub-groups. A separate national-team wave (Aug 17-18, 2026) added Purvanchal-linked leaders.
Bahujan Samaj Party
Akash Anand launched "Mission 2027" from Hathras (Aug 10, 2026). Mayawati widened Satish Chandra Mishra's role (Aug 19, 2026) to cover legal/media/EC affairs alongside his existing "Brahmin Jodo" outreach.
Indian National Congress
No independently verified, dated 2026 organisational move specific to Congress in UP has been found as of Sep 2, 2026 — its 2027 position depends substantially on SP seat-sharing terms, still in talks.

Said the BSP will contest all elections, including the 2027 UP Assembly polls, on its own and aim for a full-majority government — an alliance only if a future partner can reliably transfer votes.

UP Election 2027 Poll Tracker
Vote Vibe's Tracker 1 (25 Aug 2026) is the first disclosed, sourced opinion poll AiTimeline has found for the 2027 UP race. A poll is a snapshot of reported voter sentiment at the time of fieldwork — it is not an election result and not a seat forecast.
Gap: 3.1 points between BJP+ and SP+. Others: 4.0%.
Gap: 7.9 points between Yogi and Akhilesh on preferred-CM. 6.0% named another leader, 6.3% couldn't say.
Also from this survey: 41.8% of respondents are satisfied/completely satisfied with the state government's five-year performance vs 38.4% dissatisfied/completely dissatisfied; unemployment (23.1%) was the most-cited election issue; 64.4% say they've completely decided whom to vote for.
Methodology: CATI, 6,000+ respondents combined across UP, Uttarakhand & Punjab (UP-only sample size and exact fieldwork dates not disclosed by the pollster), ±3% margin of error. AiTimeline has not converted these vote-share figures into a seat estimate.
